The owners of the house we made an offer on sent a counter offer requiring that we let them live there through the end of June, paying rent. They accepted our price, and paying for the inspections we wanted.
There's inspections and Escrow to go, but we tentatively have a house!!!
I wonder what I can get started in the garden plot in July....

Date: 2009-04-25 06:54 am (UTC)Beans and corn can go in then. It's still early enough and the soil is plenty warm. The hard part is keeping the top few inches wet for a bit while things germinate and get roots down. Thin mulch of straw helps.
Actually, almost any of your summer crops can be planted in May. Sure you'll get to harvest a bit later than planting in April, but not that much.
