I've recently seen a number of posts calling for courtesy or an absence of hatefulness. I'm not personally experiencing this people are generally amazingly nice to a tired looking woman with a baby strapped to her chest.
I know that there are problems with the rule if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all, but there are definitely merits to making that a stop and think point.
I'm tempted to suggest a counter strike of love mail. Pick someone you don't usually follow read enough of their blog to find something you like to post about comment email whatever. I'd go for a female since they( I haven't received any) seem to get more of the hate mail.
In general be excellent to eachother!
And now for the life update. We survived August! We hosted my mom, visited summer camp, went to worldcon, shot a wedding, it was a blast and we are done! This weekend is blissfully free of anything but honey dos and routine.
Kosh has trucked along for all but the wedding. He got time with the grandparents instead, a win for everyone! He has started eating rice-cereal, partially moved to crib sleeping,( we put him down in the crib first, and return him to it after getting him back to sleep unless we've fallen asleep, or it's close to when we get out of bed), started scooting and expanded rolling, and worked on pulling himself up on crib railing. At his 6 month appointment the Wednesday before Worldcon he was up to 18 lbs 12 oz.
In the small world notes: at the inlaws church last Sunday
Her: Do you know my daughter, you look like people who would know her,
Me: maybe
Her: she goes by Gerbile.
Me: Oh yes ....
Knowing the amazing woman that is Gerbile I take it as quite the compliment to look like someone who would know her even if I suspect it was the utilikilts and mad scientist union polos.
